However, I believe you could deobfuscate things a bit, if you wish, by using a &lt;code&gt;for&lt;/code&gt; loop, as in [[Module:dzh-translit]] or [[wikt:Category:Transliteration modules|the dozens of others in Wiktionary]]. That method uses [[w:regex|regex]] instead of individual characters and lets you use patterns instead of exact matches. The article above seems daunting, but the most basic operators suffice for our purposes ([[mw:Extension:Scribunto/Lua_reference_manual#Ustring_patterns|Scribunto regex]] is a watered-down version). Anyhow, this won&#039;t change the output; it just looks tidier and may be more efficient. If you need help, I&#039;ll be glad to help you out.
