===Tuning===
Like other musical traditions of the British Isles, Judeo-Gaelic music uses 22-note JI scales, or if necessary, 22-tone equal temperament.
The idea of using a 22-note tuning system in accordance with the 22 Hebrew letters is relatively old in the Jewish commmunity. Music theorist and mathematician Șimăn Așăr Oh Moilăgon (שמעון אשר אָה מוילאגּאָן) invented various 22-note (unequal) JI scales in the 13th century. In comparison, the equal-tempered 22-note scale is a relatively modern invention and tends to be used only on fixed-pitch instruments.

The Jewish 22-note tradition led to modern British and American music using 22edo.
