Icelandic Romance is the main language spoken in Jarthe's Iceland. It is a result of L2 acquisition of a Gallo-Romance language by Old Norse speakers.

  • stad /stɛð̞/ (past participle of ese /eʃə/) <- estat
  • la vide /lɛ ˈvi.ðð̞̩/ 'life'

Articulatory basis

  • strong stress accent
  • lenition outside of stressed syllables
  • tendency towards palatalization
  • simplification of diphthongs
